MITECO added an entry dated 6 October 2026 to its Innovation Fund information about a second auction for industrial heat production. The page places the opening at the end of the year and describes a €1 billion budget as expected.

This week’s development is preparatory information. The announcement is not an opening of applications, an award of funding or the commissioning of a plant. Nor does it establish a final budget before the relevant call is checked.

The entry also advertised an information session by the Spanish Climate Change Office and the European Commission for 6 October. That date has passed by this review; the page alone does not confirm that the session took place or establish its conclusions.

For businesses using process heat, the relevance is to follow the instrument’s development and official conditions when published. The Innovation Fund supports low-emission technologies, but this update identifies no beneficiary project in Aragón or technology already deployed by Repsol Energías.

This is not support for household purchases of heating oil or a discount on delivery prices. Decisions about a specific installation require verification of technical requirements and call conditions; they cannot rest solely on the announced figure.
